The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced new federal standards for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water. Do you have questions about PFAS and how to test your well water?

• Where to Test Well Water: PFAS sampling kits are not available at St. Croix County Government Buildings. Please contact a state-certified lab to request a PFAS sampling kit.
• How to Collect a Sample: It's important to follow specific protocols when collecting a PFAS sample. Learn how to properly collect a sample on the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene website.

Nitrate contamination in drinking water can have health implications, so it's important for residents to be aware of the nitrate levels in their well water. These screenings do not test for PFAS.
