Your safety is our priority! As part of St. Croix County Public Health’s commitment to keeping our community healthy and safe, we’re launching a campaign to remind everyone to check their fire alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors.
Smoke alarms and CO detectors are crucial for your safety. They can save lives by alerting you to potential dangers in your home. Regular checks ensure they are functioning properly and ready to protect you and your loved ones.
We encourage all residents to take a moment to test your alarms and detectors. Here are a few simple steps:
- Test Your Alarms: Press the test button on each alarm to ensure it works.
- Replace Batteries: If your alarms use batteries, replace them at least once a year.
- Check Expiration Dates: Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years, while CO detectors have varying lifespans—check the manufacturer’s instructions.
To help us better understand the safety needs of our community, we invite you to fill out a brief survey. As a thank you for participating, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a free CO detector! The survey is only open to St. Croix County residents.
