National Public Health Week (NPHW) is April 7–13. This year’s theme is “It Starts Here: Your Health is Our Mission.” It's a reminder that the foundation of a healthier community begins with each of us, in our homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
St. Croix County Public Health focuses on protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. This work is achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases, and more. You can learn more about their services on the public health section of our website.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of NPHW. It began in 1995 to raise awareness about public health's role in improving our health and lives. The American Public Health Association created this infographic to highlight some of the public health achievements over the past 30 years.
Each year during NPHW, St. Croix County Public Health honors a standout individual or group with the Friend of Public Health award — recognizing those who go above and beyond to make a lasting, positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. Stay tuned, this year’s honoree will be announced on Friday, April 11!
