Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15 to December 7. This is the once-a-year opportunity to review and make changes to your Medicare coverage for the upcoming year. Whether you have a Part C (Advantage) plan or a Part D prescription drug plan, it’s important to review your coverage annually, as what worked in 2024 may no longer be the best option for 2025.
Our ADRC is anticipating a higher volume of people needing assistance this year due to some changes in provider coverage in our area medical facilities. If this affects you, you should have received a letter from your hospital or clinic. Reviewing your plan now can help avoid any surprises in the new year.
How to Get Assistance
You can contact Medicare directly at 1-800-Medicare (1-800-633-4227) anytime during Open Enrollment. Medicare representatives are available 24/7 to review your options, based on your Medicare number, and can even help you enroll in a new plan over the phone. If you have a supplemental Medigap plan, you won’t need a Part C (Advantage) plan, but Medicare agents can clarify any questions you may have.
If you would prefer to make an appointment with a Benefits Specialist or have questions, please call our main ADRC line at 715-381-4360. Those under 60 years of age will be directed to the Disability Benefits Specialists, and those over 60 will be directed to the Elder Benefits Specialists. While we do not want to discourage anyone from scheduling with us at the ADRC, we highly recommend reaching out to Medicare directly over the phone, if you are able, so that everyone is able to get the assistance that they need.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to ensure you have the right coverage in place for 2025.
