Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless radioactive gas that causes lung cancer. Approximately one third of radon tests done in St. Croix County homes are above the US EPA guideline of 4 pCi/L.

Measuring Radon Levels

The only way to know the radon level in a house is to measure it. You can get radon test kits that meet EPA guidelines at the following county offices: Resource Management office in Baldwin; Community Development office in the Government Center in Hudson; or Public Health Department in New Richmond.
