Pretrial Services
St. Croix County Justice Support Services is responsible for monitoring pretrial defendants who have pending criminal matters in St. Croix County. Our goal is to maximize court appearances and public safety. Pretrial monitoring can include referral to supportive services, check-ins, court date reminders, drug screening, remote breath testing, and/or GPS monitoring. We also offer drug screening services to other St. Croix County programs, such as Treatment Court, Diversion, and Childrens Services.
Public Safety Assessments are completed on eligible defendants prior to their initial appearance to assist in setting release conditions, and COMPAS assessments to assist in eligibility determination for further programming, such as Diversion or Treatment Court.
Our Case Managers facilitate Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT).
I just had my first court appearance. What’s next?
To find a court case visit the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website.
Contact the Clerk of Courts to enable text reminders. Call 715-386-4630 or visit our Clerk of Courts page.
If you wish to appear by zoom or phone, a request can be made through your attorney, or you can make a request in writing and in advance of your hearing. If your request is not approved by the Judge, you must appear in-person.
If you miss a court appearance, a warrant may be issued.
Public Defender
If you qualify for a Public Defender, there is nothing that you need to do.
Court Appointed Attorney
If you do not qualify for a Public Defender, you should complete and return the Application for a Court Appointed Attorney as soon as possible so that an attorney can be appointed prior to your next hearing. Do your best to not leave any blank spaces and wait to sign it in front of a Notary (located at the Clerk of Courts Office). If approved, an attorney will be appointed to you, and you will pay a discounted rate.
Private Attorney
You can also choose to hire a private attorney. The cost would be your responsibility.
Ensure the Clerk of Courts has your correct phone number and mailing address. This is on the bottom of your Bail Bond. If your contact information changes, you must update your information with Clerk of Courts Office within 48 hours either in-person or in writing. Failure to do so may interfere with the courts ability to notify you of any changes in court dates and could be a bond violation.
Contact the Clerk of Courts at 715-386-4630 or visit our Clerk of Courts page.
