COMPAS
A Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions (COMPAS) Assessment is an evidence-based risk assessment tool that is used to determine both risk and needs of individuals. The results of these assessments are used to determine eligibility and inform case planning for the Diversion and Treatment Court Programs.
An assessment can either be court-ordered or you can be referred by your attorney. (See Attorney Referral below for more information). After the referral, please wait at least 2 business days before calling to schedule, as it can take time for staff to receive the information necessary to schedule your assessment.
Please schedule your assessment at least 2 weeks prior to your next hearing. Failing to schedule your assessment within this timeframe may result in your full assessment report not being available by your next hearing.
Call (715) 531-8809 or email us to schedule an assessment.
Assessments usually take 1 - 2 hours. This includes time for your assessor to review your results and answer questions that you may have.
Yes, COMPAS assessments are in person at the St. Croix County Government Center. There will be several documents for you to complete and sign, including a self-report section.
Please bring a valid ID and a blue or black pen.
Email us a copy of the criminal compliant and/or police report along with your client’s name, case number, and contact information.
