The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Water Patrol is responsible for patrolling the public waters of St. Croix County. The water patrol duties include lake rescues, investigation of boating accidents and drownings on all county waterways as well as 26 miles of the St. Croix River. The water patrol works in conjunction with the Washington County, MN Sheriff’s Office, National Park Service, and both Wisconsin and Minnesota Departments of Natural Resources.
With the increased use of watercraft in St. Croix County, the Sheriff’s Office encourages all boaters to take part in a boater safety course.
