Civil Process Procedure

Due to the amount of papers that are received for service, documents should be received in our office within a reasonable amount of time allowed for service.

Petitioner / Attorney

The service address must be in St. Croix County. P.O. Boxes are not acceptable.

Please include your name, address and phone number. Include an email address to receive a Certificate of Service (or) Non-service and the billing statement. The Clerk of Court will receive the certificate if papers are filed in St. Croix County.

What to Send for Service / Return

  • Foreclosure Sales: Include the original and 3 copies of the Foreclosure Notice. Sales are conducted in the Sheriff’s Office lobby - ground floor of the St. Croix County Government Center, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, WI.
  • Civil Papers: Include one complete copy of all papers to be served for each person to be served. Include any helpful contact information regarding the person(s) to be served.

If an e-mail is not provided, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Fees Rates effective July, 2019

If the Sheriff Sale is adjourned more than one week we will reassess posting & conducting fees. No refunds given for sale cancellations.
