Community Development

The mission of the Community Development Department is: serving the public, guiding communities by balancing the use and protection of natural resources with the needs of the public to enhance the quality of life for current and future generations.

 The Community Development Department is under direction of the Community Development Committee.

A Public Hearing to consider amendments to the St. Croix County Farmland Preservation Area Plan Map of the St. Croix County - 2012 – 2035 Comprehensive Plan will be held on March 19th, 2020 at 5:00 PM during the Community Development Committee meeting. 

In response to updates to the Town of Troy Zoning Ordinance and Map and requests to review the LESA score for parcels in the Towns of Springfield and Baldwin, St. Croix County revised its farmland preservation area plan map. The amendments will allow for additional land to be zoned into state certified farmland preservation zoning districts in St. Croix County.

A Public information session regarding proposed Chapter 16 Shoreland Overlay Changes will be held during the Community Development Committee meeting on February 20th, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
